"App let me down when I needed it most"
I expected the Virgin Atlantic app to make things easier, especially at the airport, but it did the opposite. It kept logging me out and then wouldn’t load my booking when I actually needed it. I tried both WiFi and mobile data, and nothing changed, which is really frustrating when you’re already dealing with pre-flight stress.
Check-in froze halfway through too, so I ended up having to switch to the website instead. For an airline this size, I’d expect the app to handle basic stuff like staying logged in and showing a booking. It wasn’t a huge disaster, but it was annoying enough that I wouldn’t rely on it next time.

"The food was a bit of a letdown..."
The food was a bit of a letdown this time. I was hungry, got the main meal, took a few bites… and yeah, just bland. Kind of dry too, like it had been sitting around for a while. The bread roll didn’t help. Cold, hard, not really something I wanted to finish.

The drinks were another thing. They took a while to come around, and when they did, the options felt basic. The crew were friendly enough, no issue there. But for what the ticket cost, I expected the food and drink side to be better.

"I tried to check in online, actually, I..."
I tried to check in online, actually, I tried several times, and it just kept failing. When I got there, the staff didn’t really seem interested in helping much, so the whole process ended up being frustrating.

"Cabin felt dirty and I regret trusting them"
I flew with Virgin Atlantic last week and was disappointed with how unclean the cabin felt. My tray table had sticky marks on it, there were crumbs in the seat pocket, and the floor around my seat looked like it hadn’t really been checked properly. I felt a bit stupid for trusting the brand and assuming it would be better, especially for the price.
The crew were friendly enough, so I don’t want to be unfair to them, but it’s not a great start to a long flight when you feel like you need to wipe everything down yourself before settling in. I expected more and would definitely think twice before booking with them again...

"Special assistance ended up being really disappointing"
I had requested special assistance ahead of time and was expecting someone to be there when I needed help, but unfortunately nobody ever showed up. I waited around, kept looking for someone, and it just felt like the request had been completely forgotten. It made the whole experience a lot more stressful and frustrating than it needed to be.

"My flight time got changed and I..."
My flight time got changed and I basically had to find out on my own. I only noticed because I happened to check the booking myself, what if I hadn’t? When I reached out to support, the answers were vague and not really helpful. A proper warning would’ve been nice, right?

"Boarding was a bit of a clown show"
Boarding with Virgin Atlantic was just okay. The staff were pleasant enough, but the whole group system felt unclear, and everyone was standing around like confused sheep trying to figure out what was going on. It did eventually get moving, but it definitely wasn’t the smoothest process.

"I could not get comfortable at all..."
I could not get comfortable at all. My knees felt crushed the entire flight, and it made the whole trip miserable. If I can avoid flying like this again, I definitely will. "Never again" if I have a choice.

"In-flight entertainment really let the flight down"
I flew with Virgin Atlantic recently the entertainment system was a bit of a letdown. For a long flight, isn’t that one of the main things you rely on? The screen was super slow, kept freezing, and it took forever just to scroll through the options. The movie selection felt dated too, and some of the shows had really crackly sound. The crew were friendly, which I appreciated, but what are you supposed to do for hours when the entertainment barely works? It ended up being a much more boring flight than I expected.

"Slow replies, but it got sorted"
It took ages to get a reply, which was frustrating. Whoever runs this really needs to speed things up, but to be fair, they did eventually help me get it sorted.

"My flight was cancelled at the last minute..."
My flight was cancelled at the last minute, and I didn’t get much help afterward. Not sure how to explain it, but it felt like I was just left to figure everything out on my own.

"Refund is taking forever"
I’ve been waiting weeks for my refund now, and every time I reach out to support, I just get these vague replies that don’t really tell me anything. My gut tells me this shouldn’t be taking this long, and it’s getting frustrating.

"I tried booking flights on virginatlantic.com, and..."
I tried booking flights on virginatlantic.com, and the payment part turned into way more of a hassle than it should’ve been. My card was declined twice, even though my bank said everything was fine on their end. Then I tried PayPal, and the page froze, so I had to start the whole booking again. By the time I got back in, the price had changed. Not the best experience when you’re just trying to book a flight.

"WiFi was surprisingly solid"
The WiFi worked great on my flight. I stayed connected the whole time and didn’t run into any issues. There was just something about it that made the trip feel a little easier

"Trying to book a flight on this site was painful"
I tried to book a flight the website was a mess. The pages kept freezing, and when I finally got to the payment screen, it randomly jumped back twice. I thought maybe it was my internet at first, but everything else was working fine, I even had music streaming in the background with no issues. Anyway, after wasting way too much time on it, I just gave up.

"Booking took way more effort than it should have"
I tried booking a flight on virginatlantic.com it was more of a pain than I expected. The pages were loading really slowly, and a couple of times it randomly sent me back to the beginning, which meant I had to start over like I had nothing better to do.

The most annoying part was the price changing right when I got close to paying. Then I had to go back and double-check the bags and seat options again, which just felt like extra work for no reason.

I did manage to book the flight in the end, so at least it worked eventually. But it definitely wasn’t smooth, and it took way longer than it should have for something that should be straightforward.

"Extra fees caught me a little off guard"
I booked through Virgin Atlantic for a trip I’d been planning with my partner, and the process was mostly smooth. The site itself worked fine and I didn’t run into any big issues, but the extra fees were a bit frustrating. Once I added bags and picked seats, the final price ended up higher than I expected. I know airlines charge for a lot of extras these days, but I just wish the total cost was clearer earlier on. It would’ve made budgeting for the trip a lot easier.

"Changing my flight was kind of a hassle"
I had to change my flight on virginatlantic.com, and it was alright, but not exactly easy easy. The site did show me some options, which was good, but the fees part was confusing for me at first and I had to look at it a few times. I got it done in the end, so that’s fine, but it definitely took more time than I thought it would. Not a terrible experience, just kind of messy when your plans need changing.

"I’ve been using Virgin Atlantic Flying Club for..."
I’ve been using Virgin Atlantic Flying Club for a bit now, and it’s been decent. The points usually show up after flights without me having to chase anyone, and I’ve managed to use them for seat upgrades a couple of times, which felt like a nice Win.
The companion and upgrade vouchers are probably the best part, especially if you’re not locked into super specific dates. Also, getting lounge access with status definitely makes travel feel a lot less stressful, even if it’s just having somewhere quiet to sit before a flight.
The only annoying thing is that reward seats can be hit or miss, and the website can be weirdly Slow sometimes. But overall, I’d still say it’s a solid loyalty program and worth using if you fly with them fairly often
